The internet is full of chatGPT tests and advices. This AI tool has taken the internet by storm!
It got 1 million users in the first 5 days!
Now, everybody is testing how these AI tools can be integrated with their business.
After testing it ourselves, we found out that some of the most common recommendations and use cases for improving marketing performance for your business.
But, before jumping in with the top 7 ways you can use chatGPT AI to optimize your marketing, let’s understand what is chatGPT.
What is chatGPT?
Where can you find that out, if not from the expert itself?
I’ve asked chatGPT:
So, to summarize this answer, chatGPT can do the following:
- Generates human-like text responses in chatbot setting
- Given a prompt or previous message in conversation
- Trained on large dataset of chat logs
- Can generate appropriate responses to a wide range of chat topics and styles
- Can generate responses that are informative, humorous, or empathetic depending on context of conversation and prompt given
How do you think I got the bullet points above?
That is right! I’ve just asked the chatGPT to create them:
pretty cool!
Ok, now that we figured out what it can do let’s see how can we use chatGPT to optimize our marketing activities.
Top 7 ways to optimize your marketing with chatGPT
1. Content creation/copywriting
Creating content with chatGPT is now easy. Even if I don’t think that just copying and pasting it is right, I believe that AI platforms can help with getting ideas that you can fine-tune to your liking.
More so, if you are doing affiliate marketing, you have many landing pages for which you are using copy.
And you need copies for different products/niches and some help is always welcome.
With a content AI tool you can create copy for your landing pages or affiliate marketing pages very easily.
Just put the topic and you will get a great piece of content that you can afterward adapt.
Below I’ve asked chatGPT to produce content regarding a “collagen product”. It could have been a topic from igaming, insurance, nutra or anything you want.
But it is a great starting point!
Do you see how much content it created in 1 minute?
You can just use part of it and add your mark to it. I believe it is impressive the amount of content it can produce and the details provided.
One thing to keep in mind though, chatGPT has information only before 2022, so if you will ask it about the winner at the World Football championship, it will not know the answer. 🙂
2. SEO – test descriptions/title variations
SEO is an important part of the marketing strategy for any business.
But sometimes it is hard to come up with the best titles or descriptions for your website or landing page. Sometimes all you need is some SEO ideas.
Let’s see how you can use chatGPT for getting ideas for page titles and descriptions.
Below I’ve asked chatGPT to provide a SEO optimized title and description for CPV Lab affiliate marketing tracker home page.
Here is the result:
The result is quite complete.
The page title should be: Optimize Your Affiliate Marketing Performance with CPV Lab Tracker
- it defines perfectly what CPV Lab is doing for affiliate marketers: helps track and optimize marketing performance for multi-channel campaigns
- it is relevant to the product
As for the description, it is also concise and easy to understand:
“Boost your affiliate marketing ROI with CPV Lab – the ultimate affiliate marketing tracker that helps you test and optimize all your marketing campaigns in one single place. Track your conversions, revenue, and profits with ease and make data-driven decisions to improve your marketing strategy. Try CPV Lab today and see the difference!”
Try it for your products and see how it goes!
3. Translation
If you are running affiliate marketing campaigns like a pro, you know that some of the best offers are successful in different GEOs. But you can’t know all the languages out there for sure!
Tip: that is why it is always important to test and track what kind of GEOs are working best for your offer!
And usually you had to translate your landing pages or use somebody from Fiverr to provide with a good translation.
Now, you can translate your landing pages copy in minutes with chatGPT because it knows tens of languages!
Below I’ve asked it to translate a piece of text into Portuguese. But I did the same for Spanish, and Chinese and it should work for most of the languages out there!
ChatGPT may have its limitations, but it can still serve as a valuable tool for those in need of translation services. Instead of starting from scratch, it can provide a rough translation that can then be corrected and polished by a translator. This can save a big amount of time and effort!
Additionally, for those interested in starting a translation business, chatGPT can be a handy resource. By using chatGPT to generate initial translations, business owners can spend more time focusing on the business aspects, such as marketing and customer service, rather than the time-consuming task of translating text. Even with its limitations, chatGPT can be a useful tool to make the translation process easier and more efficient.
4. Research keywords
Ok, this topic is also related to SEO but I decided to put it as a separate option because it is very important to have the right keywords when running PPC campaigns.
When you run multi-channel marketing campaigns, you want to know which keywords are most efficient for each channel.
And an affiliate marketer usually is running tens of campaigns on multiple traffic sources, so, tracking your best performing keywords for each channel and comparing them is an important aspect of your performance.
With chatGPT I tried to get the best keywords for a supplement to get fit and it gave me 15 options in less than 1 minute. You can try it out and ask it for keywords on different topics, from insurance, car rentals, iGaming, dating… anything.
5. Email copy/newsletters
Let’s see now how can chatGPT help you with your email copies and newsletters.
As part of a multi channel marketing strategy, you need to include email marketing campaigns.
Or maybe you just have a list of prospects and you want to run an email marketing campaign for your affiliate offers.
No matter the purpose, chatGPT can help with the copy of an email.
I’ve asked it to help me with an email copy where I try to sell to a specific [Persona] some offer (in my test I used financial assurance for families) and this is what I’ve got:
6. Rephrase existing content
This one is also related to content creation.
Sometimes you have some content but you want to transmit that same idea in a different tone of voice… or maybe you get inspired by a piece of content and you want to rephrase it and add your own thoughts.
In affiliate marketing spying other affiliates /competitors with tools like SpyFu or Aplexity is common knowledge. And sometimes an affiliate needs to change the content to match his own landing page.
That is where chatGPT can help: rephrase content!
I took some piece of content from one of our hosting partners website, Cloudways, and I’ve asked chatGPT to rephrase it:
It looks pretty good!
7. Create a landing page code
I recon that I was very skeptical about this one!
But looks like chatGPT can do some simple (I didn’t ask it to write a complex algorithm yet!) programming work.
Like a simple Landing page.
For this test, I’ve asked chatGPT to create a simple HTML page with some header, description and a CTA at the end.
This is the result I’ve got:
I took the code, saved it in document as .html, I’ve added some images and I had the first draft of a very basic landing page!
I was curious if it will provide a template based on a landing page I provide, so I did another test, check bonus below:
8. BONUS: Make a copy of an existing landing page
I’ve asked chatGPT to create a web page like an existing landing page.
If you are doing affiliate marketing, you already know that sometimes you “get inspired” by other affiliates landing pages.
I’ve chose a very complex page from a news website and here is the result I’ve got:
What it did was to create a template that I can use to create a dynamic landing page. That’s because a news website is loading the information from the database.
If I choose to get a copy of a static landing page, then chaGPT can provide a much more accurate page.
Not perfect, but with some small tweaks it looks quite nice!
To sum up…
I’ve included in this article just a few of the tens of ways you can use chatGPT to improve your marketing.
One thing is sure though, AI tools are the thing this year and we need to be prepared to adapt.
As for Google trying to penalize AI-generated content, well, we will wait and see what they can get done. I find it very difficult to detect if the content is AI generated, more so if you add your changes to it (don’t be lazy and just copy and paste!)
I found this interesting article about Google and how they think to handle this AI-generated content influx, and the conclusion is:
“I think the biggest takeaway is that Google’s algorithms aren’t able to automatically detect content generated by language models such as GPT-3,” says Miranda Miller, Sr. Managing Editor at Search Engine Journal.”
