{"id":2927,"date":"2025-03-25T09:42:52","date_gmt":"2025-03-25T09:42:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cpvlab.pro\/blog\/?p=2927"},"modified":"2025-04-17T12:05:27","modified_gmt":"2025-04-17T12:05:27","slug":"send-conversions-to-facebook-capi-from-an-email-campaign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cpvlab.pro\/blog\/case-study\/send-conversions-to-facebook-capi-from-an-email-campaign\/","title":{"rendered":"How to send conversions to Facebook CAPI from an email campaign?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I want to present you an interesting funnel we got asked about by one user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>He wanted to do the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Run a campaign with traffic from <strong>Facebook Ads<\/strong> (Meta Ads)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>To collect emails<\/strong> through this campaign (a lead capture campaign)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A new email campaign where he sent emails to the collected emails to present them an offer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The final goal: he wanted to <strong>get the conversions from the second campaign marked back at the traffic source<\/strong>, in Facebook via CAPI<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>And we were asked how he can complete this process by using <strong>CPV Lab<\/strong> ad tracker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The difficult part with this setup is <strong>that visitors from Facebook (Meta) ads are tracked in the first campaign, but they convert in the second campaign.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, conversion details will be passed from the second campaign to the first campaign in the tracker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote nobgblock has-white-background-color has-background has-medium-font-size\" style=\"border-width:1px\"><blockquote><p>The conversions from the second campaign (email campaign) will be sent by the tracker to the first campaign (the Facebook Campaign) and from there to Facebook CAPI.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Below you will get the case explained and the solution proposed by our team to this funnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"nobgblock has-white-background-color has-background\">Note: the same process applies for <strong>CPV One<\/strong>, cloud-hosted ad tracker, as well. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"leadcapture\">Create the lead capture campaign<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>First, we had to create a<strong> lead capture campaign<\/strong> in CPV Lab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As you know, CPV Lab has <strong>6 campaign layouts<\/strong>, already predefined for you to easily create any funnel with ease:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/cpvlab.pro\/docs\/direct-link-and-landing-page-campaigns.html\">Direct Link and Landing Pages<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/cpvlab.pro\/docs\/landing-page-sequence-campaigns.html\">Landing Page Sequence<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/cpvlab.pro\/docs\/lead-capture-campaigns.html\">Lead Capture &amp; and you will go to the campaign setup page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step2: Select the traffic source to be Facebook<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For each campaign you have to fill some important information:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>General settings : like campaign name, custom tracking domain, etc<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tracking settings: what data options you want to track (mobile, GEO, ISP, etc), etc<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Traffic source: select what traffic source you want to use. If you track your organic traffic, then leave it as it is.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For this case study, you need to complete all the mandatory fields: campaign name, custom tracking domain, tracking data options, etc. and get to the &#8220;<em>Macros &amp; are actually some values that Facebook will return to the tracker, like Ad Set, Ad id, Campaign ID (in Meta Ads), etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This information is saved in the tracker from Facebook for each visitor (and to that we add the the information CPVLab tracks internally and you get a lot of data you can use to optimize the campaign).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step3: Add our landing page<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After selecting the traffic source (Facebook in this case), we need to add the landing page where the lead capture form is included.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The easiest way to do this is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to &#8220;<strong>LPs &amp; Offers<\/strong>&#8221; section<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select &#8220;<strong>Landing Page management<\/strong>&#8221; and add our landing page there<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go back to our campaign and select the landing page from the list of landing pages in the &#8220;Landing page&#8221; Pixels<\/em>&#8221; section from our campaign page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As Facebook doesn&#8217;t accept redirects, you need to have the <strong>&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/cpvlab.pro\/docs\/direct-traffic.html\">Direct Traffic Code<\/a><\/strong>&#8221; added to our landing page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click on the campaign name to edit it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to the Links and Pixels section\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to &#8220;Step2 Code&#8221;
