How to Build a Listicle Campaign in CPV Lab

In this post I’m going to show you how to set up a listicle campaign in CPV Lab that tracks multiple offers from a single landing page, so you can easily replicate this process for your own campaigns.

CPV Lab has a campaign type specially designed for tracking listicles, “Multiple Option Campaign Type”.

In our tutorial we will use a “Direct Link and Landing Page” campaign type because we only want to test 2 offers.

For more offers and options, you should use the “Multiple Options” campaign type.

Step 1: Start a New Campaign

To create a new campaign to track listicle landing pages we need to do the following:

  • Log in to CPV Lab.
  • Hit “New Campaign.”
  • Select “Direct Link and Landing Pages” ➜ click “Advanced Setup.”
  • Name your campaign and fill in basic details.
  • Add your listicle landing page URL in the Landing Pages section.

First thing we’re going to do to build a campaign with multiple offers is log in to CPV Lab.

Once we’re in the dashboard we’re going to click the light blue “New Campaign” button.

After that, we’ll see multipole options to choose from. Click on “Direct Link and Landing Pages”.

Then, click “Advanced Setup.”

Add a name in the “Campaign Name” field and fill out the general information.

Continue selecting the general information in the “Macros & Tokens” section, and make sure to add your listicle page as a landing page in the “Landing Pages” area.

Step 2: Add multiple offers

  • Enter your first offer in the Offers section.
  • Click “Add Offer” button to insert offer #2 … #3 … #∞.
  • Keep “share %” at “0%” for extra offers (because we don’t want to rotate between them); CPV Lab will still track every click.

After adding our first offer, we’re going to add a second offer for our listicle by clicking the “Add Offer” button.

Next we’re going to add an additional to our campaign. You can add as many as you’d like for your listicle campaign.

The share percentage can be set to “0%” for the additional offers.

Step 3: Add links and pixels to the page.

  • In “Links & Pixels”, under “Step 1 – Edit Links”, choose Rotate Offers.
  • Copy the first offer link ➜ paste it into the first button/image on your listicle landing page.
  • Repeat for offer 2, offer 3, etc. (Copy ➜ paste. So easy a 10-year-old could do it :))

So, in the Links & Pixels section we’ll see the “Step 1: Edit Links from Landing Page” area with a drop down menu that says “Rotate Offers“.

We don’t want to rotate the offers, but to direct link to each of them. That is why here we’ll select the first offer we’d like to add to our listicle.

After selecting the offer press the copy icon to copy the offer tracking URL.

Then, add the link to the elements you’d like that will take the user to the first offer when clicked.

Next, we’re going to go back to the Link & Pixels area, and grab the second offer by selecting the offer from the drop down menu in the Step 1: Edit Links from Landing Page area.

From here we can add our second offer to our page.

We can continually add more and more offers by repeating this process.

Step 4 : Drop in Your Tracking Pixel

  • Still in “Links & Pixels”, find “Step 2 – Add Code to Landing Page.”
  • Copy the pixel.
  • Paste it before the closing tag on your HTML (or in the “Scripts” box if you’re using SeedProd / WordPress).

We’re going to go to go back to the Links & Pixels section and look for the area that says “Step 2: Add Code to Landing Pages“. Here, we can copy the pixel by clicking the copy icon.

Then, paste this pixel to towards the bottom of the closing body tag of your html. If your using SeedProd’s WordPress plug-in you can paste this script in the “Scripts” area located on the Page Settings tab.

Step 5: Test offers tracking

  • Copy your Campaign URL.
  • Load it in a browser.
  • Click each offer link to confirm tracking fires and redirects correctly.
  • Check CPV Lab’s real-time stats to see the test conversions roll in.

Now we can test our page by copying our campaign URL.

Then, click each offer to test to make sure each offer is working.
