MV Lab and PureLander integration

Super MV Lab Testing Tactics: Integrate Simply With PureLander

Posted on February 11, 2025February 13, 2025 by Patrick H

MV Lab has been one of my favorite tools of all time.

MV Lab allows us to easily make multiple variations of pages in minutes to split test for our CPA campaigns. This is one of the tools we really need to look into if we are looking to test pages professionally.

It is integrated with CPV Lab (and CPV One) ad tracker and so we get all our clicks, engagements, conversions tracked.

Effectiveness:

In a recent campaign we can see how just testing a single variable with MV Lab such as the headline can have a dramatic effect on a campaign’s overall performance.

When combining additional variables we can see that this could also increase the campaign’s results even further.

Tutorial:

In this tutorial we’re going to walk you through how to integrate MV Lab with PureLander‘s Platform. I’m going to go step by step in detail to show you how to easily start utilizing these powerful tools together for your own pages.

Table Of Contents:Section:
Introduction ▶ Go To
➀ Step 1: Create Pure Lander Account ▶ Go To
➁ Step 2 : Create Page▶ Go To
➂ Step 3: Add Variations▶ Go To
➃ Step 4: Add MV Lab code

Step 1: Select Pure Lander Template

First we need to make sure we have an account with PureLander.

After we log in we need to select a page to use (a template).

Step 2: Add design elements

We’re going to add our design elements in the HTML editor in PureLander.

For this design I’m going to be adding a logo image & 3 elements to be tested:

  1. Headline Copy
  2. Main content image
  3. CTA Button

Remember that this is a basic test to easily understand how the two platforms work together.

Step 3: Add Multivariate Tokens

Next, we need to create a campaign in CPV Lab and after that to define the tracking tokens.

This will allow to track the performance of each variation of the landing page.

We’re going to create a new campaign by clicking the “Add New Campaign” tab, or use and existing campaign.

Make sure the general and tracking information are completed for the campaign.

Then, we need to make sure we have the “Multivariate” tokens added to our campaign.

If we were to test 3 variables we need to make sure that 3 multivariate tokens are added to the campaign before saving the campaign.

Step 4: Multivariate Tool Generator

After completing and saving the campaign, we’re going to select the “MV Lab” drop down menu item and click the “Multivariate Code” tab.

We’re going to make sure our campaign we created is selected.

Then, add a name in the “Snippet 1” box to create a name for the first variable. Since this Snippet is going to contain the headline variations we’re going to name it “Headline“, so it’s easy to understand (when reading the html).

Now, I’m going to add a headline variation (value) into the “Variation 1” box.

I’m going to add two more variations by clicking the “Var” button a few more times.

Now, we can add 2 more variations for our headline.

Then, it’s important we set the share percentages.

To add a second variable we’re going to click the “+ snip” button and repeat the process a few times.

Now we’ve added 2 more variables and 6 more variations (values).

Next we’re going to create our multivariate code by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking the “Generate Code with above values” button.

To copy the multivariate code just easily click the copy icon.

Step 5: Installing The Multivariate Code

To install the Multivariate code we’re going to go back to PureLander and click on the “Source code” button.

Then, paste the MV Lab code above the html tags (on the very top of our page).

Add tracking code from MVLab to PureLander

Step 6: Installing The SNIPPET Code(s)

Now we need to add the MV Lab SNIPPET code:

 ##snippet_X##
We need to replace the “X” in the code to the snippet number we want to use.

Since Snippet 1 contains the headline variations we need to change the “X” to “1“:

Like this:

 ##snippet_1##

Now we’re going to replace the headline text we created in PureLander with our MV Lab snippet code:

Before:

After:

Keep in mind when we add the MV Lab snippet code to our image links we’re only adding the SNIPPET code to the end of the URL.

Before:

After:

The code will be replaced with what ever values were placed into the MV Lab variation box like a.png, b.png, and c.png (green.png, yellow.png and ect).

Note: It’s important all the values (text, numbers, and ect) in MV Lab correctly align with the HTML files located on our server.

After all our Snippet Codes are properly placed into PureLander we can click “Ok“.

Then, Click “Save”.

Now we can download the page by clicking the download button.

Step 7: FTP Upload

Upload the files from PureLander to a folder or subfolder. After uploading the files to our server we need to change the domain extension from HTML to PHP of our main html file.

Example:

Before:

index.html

Incorrect:

MV Lab incorrect code

After:

index.php

Correct

MVLab correct naming of file

Next, make sure the mvlab.php file is placed in the same directory as our main php file.

Step 8: Test Variations

Now we can use our campaign URL and the variations will take place automatically.

Here we can see the multiple variations for MV Lab.

Demonstration

Variation 1:

Variation 2:

Variation 3:

Variation usage:

By using MV Lab we created 3 headlines, 3 main content images, and 3 button colors; which is 27 different page combinations.

To make 27 pages on your own or hire someone to do this could be a very difficult, or expensive task without using MV Lab.

And the important part is not only having all these variations done, it’s tracking all the interactions the visitor has with them: the CTR (click-trough rate), CR (conversion rate), Engagement rate, etc.

Conclusion:

Testing is one of the most important aspects of creating profitable CPA campaigns. 100 marketers can give you one hundred different answers on which web page is the best to use for your campaigns. Only raw data and your campaigns overall ROI will let you know for sure if your campaigns are headed in the right direction.
