Do you feel like you’re just throwing your email campaigns out and hoping for the best?
You spend much time writing your emails only to see open and click rates or unsubscribes?
CPV One is here to change that game for you.
It’s like having a secret tool to ensure you can track email campaigns.
With CPV One or its self hosted version, CPV Lab, you can send out anything from landing pages to special deals, and thanks to its top-notch tracking, you’ll always know how well they’re doing. What is converting! (because conversions are our ultimate goal, right?)
Here is a small video where Julia Draghici, CEO @ CPV One, explains how to use tracking links in your emails for split testing and to track conversions.
So, you want to improve your affiliate marketing skills and track every step of your funnel?
I’ll walk you through every step to set up an email opt-in campaign on CPV One and show you how to link it with a follow-up campaign.
It’s time to increase your conversion rates and make your email list work harder for you!
Purpose of the case study campaign
- Offer: Powerhouse Affiliate courses
- Traffic source: Solo Ads
- Tracking software: CPV One (or CPV Lab)
We will focus on promoting Powerhouse Affiliate using solo ads in this case.
Powerhouse Affiliate offers courses and certifications to teach people how to do affiliate marketing. Their techniques are up-to-date and based on real data. Users can access forums, case studies, and other resources with a membership.
To explain how to set everything, I’ve created a lead magnet and all the funnel pages.
- Lead magnet: https://onlinemarketingacademy.club/courses/hidden-traffic-sources/
- Optin page: (landing page) https://onlinemarketingacademy.club/powerhouse-affiliate-landing-page
- Sales page: ( after optin page) https://onlinemarketingacademy.club/pa-7/
- Email sales page: ( sales page we will put in the emails) https://onlinemarketingacademy.club/pa-solo-ads-emails/
Configuring Your CPV One Email Opt-in Campaign
First we will need an Lead Capture and Opt-in campaign.

So, let us start!
Edit Lead Capture Campaign

- Name your campaign: Give it a descriptive name for easy tracking.
- Choose your domain: Use CPV One’s default or link your own custom domain.
- Select Tracking Variables: Pick the data that’s most important to you.
- Set Engagement Rate: 3 seconds is a good starting point (it means that if a visitor stays more than 3 seconds, it will be considered Engaged with your content and that information will be tracked)
- Choose redirect type: Opt for the direct link option for speed.
- Choose Landing page tracking: Our funnel will promote the Landing page -> Thank you page -> Offer so that we will choose the Landing page as an option here.
Macros & Tokens

- Define Traffic Source: I will promote this campaign with solo ads, so I included that traffic source.
- Add Tracking Tokens: Use these to pinpoint campaign performance.
Landing Page

- Choose the landing page: CPV One lets you put your landing page in the LPs & Offers/Offer Management or the campaign. In this case, I put it directly in the campaign. As you can see, there is No Predifined Landing page, and the name I put in the LP name placeholder.
- Insert Your Landing Page Link: Enter the URL of your pre-designed landing page.
- Set Share Percentage: 100% is fine if you only use one landing page.
After Opt-In

This is your thank you page. The page where the subscribers will go after opt-in.
- Set After opt-in: First I put my landing pages in the LPs & Offers/Offer Management, and as you can see, when I create the campaign, there is the name of the page and the link showing automatically.
- Set Share Percentage: I clicked on the sign “=” and got Share% 100 (If I want to split test multiple pages, then I will use different shares. Important is to get 100% as a total of shares)
Offers
You need to put your affiliate link as an offer.
- 1. Go to LPs & Offers/Offer Management menu in your tracker and add the offer.
- Then chose it from the drop-down menu when you create the campaign.
- CPV One also tracks your revenue, so if you put the payout in the offer management, you will also know the income from the campaign.

- 2. On the campaign setup, click “=” for even Share %

Now, we need to save the campaign and put tracking codes and links on our pages.
All the tracking links and codes are provided by the ad tracker, so we only need to make sure we add them correctly so we can track everything right.
Here is a very useful explanations of the common tracking links provided by the CPV One tracker.
All the tracking codes for your pages can be found in the “Links and Pixels” section of the campaign.

- 1. The Campaign URL is the link we will place with the traffic source, in our case, the solo ad vendor
- 2. Step 2 code: We need to add the code from step 2 to our landing page – this will do the tracking for our landing page
- 3. Step 3 code: We need to add the code from step 3 in our thank you page ( after the opt-in page)
Note: If you got a warning about the alt attribute, you online need to add an alt attribute to the image tag. Like this: <img alt=”onlinecourse” src=”https://onlinemarketingimpact.com/adsub.php” style=”display:none”/>
- 4. Offer Links: Since we are using a Thank you Page, we need to use the code from Step 4 for all the links to the offer from our landing page.
- We need to add https://onlinemarketingimpact.com/base3.php as a link in all CTA buttons of the thank you page ( https://onlinemarketingacademy.club/pa-7/ ( after the opt-in page))
As all the buttons in our After Opt-in page go to the same offer, you can track which button/link was clicked simply by adding an extra token.
So, your links to the offers from the After Optin page will look like this:
- button1: https://trackerdomain/base3.php?token1=link1
- button2: https://trackerdomain/base3.php?token1=link2
- button3: https://trackerdomain/base3.php?token1=link3
And that is that.
We created a Lead Capture & opt-in campaign. You can track it standalone, or you can connect it with your email campaign (and create an Email Follow-Up Campaign for that).
If you want to track: the visitors to your page, subscribers, CTR, engagement rate and conversions (via S2S Tracking), then you are set.

Track your Email Campaigns with Email Follow-Up Campaign
Now we want to track the email campaign that will be sent to the visitors filling the optin form from the first campaign. For that we will be using the template for “Email Follow-up” campaign from CPV One.

Edit Email Follow-Up Campaign
- Put the name of your email follow-up campaign
- Put your or default CPV One domain
- This is very important. Assign the campaign to the Lead Capture and Optin Ins campaign. You need to choose from the drop-down menu which campaign you will connect to this.
- Choose the data options you need to track
- Set the engagement to be between 3-5 sec (I used 3)
- This is a direct link campaign because we promote an affiliate program, not a CPA offer.
- I will put a landing page with links to the offer in the emails.

Macros and Tokens
- Add Tracking Tokens: Include relevant tokens for deeper analytics.
- I’ve added some extra tokens for:
- Email number – as my funnel will have multiple emails, I want to track like this the email I send
- Link number – I want to be able to track which link from the email was clicked
- I’ve added some extra tokens for:

Email Landing Pages and Offers
Here we need to specify the landing page and the offers we intend to send traffic from emails to.

- 1 & 2: Put the landing page you will track in the emails.
- In your emails you will use the Tracking Link for this campaign and that link will take the visitor to the landing page you specify here
- if you specify 2 landing pages with different shares, then the traffic will be split depending on the shares
- 3. Click on the sign “=”
- This will put even shares for the landing pages you are using (in my case is 100% as I have only one landing page)
- 4. Select your offer (this is your affiliate link)
- 5. Click on the sign “=” for offers (similar as you did for landing pages, it will split shares between the offers to get to 100%)
- Now you can save the campaign
After saving the campaign we need to add the tracking code to our emails and landing page.
All the tracking codes and links can be found on the “Links & Pixels” section of your campaign.

- 1: The tracking link for your email CTAs is your campaign URL. It is something like this
https://onlinemarketingimpact.com/base.php?c=87&key=cb4e4bcae9aaaaaaaaaa&id=xxx&lnkno={linkno}&emailno={emailno}
- This is the link that you will use for the links or buttons in your emails.
- So, you will edit the links like this:
- As you will send same email sequence, you will only have Email 1 in your campaign.
- link1 will be:
https://onlinemarketingimpact.com/base.php?c=87&key=cb4e4bcae9aaaaaaaaaa&id=1&lnkno=link1&emailno=email1
- id – is the id of the email in your tracker; in my case is 1
- lnkno – is the extra token I added to track the link number in my email
- emailno – is the extra token I added to track the email number in my sequence (I have an email sequence with a few emails)
- link 2 will be:
https://onlinemarketingimpact.com/base.php?c=87&key=cb4e4bcae9aaaaaaaaaa&id=1&lnkno=link2&emailno=email1
- link 3 will be:
https://onlinemarketingimpact.com/base.php?c=87&key=cb4e4bcae9aaaaaaaaaa&id=1&lnkno=link3&emailno=email1
For your second email you will have:
- link1 will be:
https://onlinemarketingimpact.com/base.php?c=87&key=cb4e4bcae9aaaaaaaaaa&id=1&lnkno=link1&emailno=email2
- link 2 will be:
https://onlinemarketingimpact.com/base.php?c=87&key=cb4e4bcae9aaaaaaaaaa&id=1&lnkno=link2&emailno=email2
- link 3 will be:
https://onlinemarketingimpact.com/base.php?c=87&key=cb4e4bcae9aaaaaaaaaa&id=1&lnkno=link3&emailno=email2
Please note: the extra tokens for each link are changed with the values I want to track.
And in Stats, you will get information like this.

Please note:
Email column will always be “email # 1” if you decide to have only 1 email defined in the campaign; and you will filter the data by “Email Number” column, which will show the “emailno” parameter.
If you go with the approach of having for example 7 emails defined in the campaign, then you will use the Email column in the reports to filter the data (in this case you will no longer need the EmailNumber extra token, you only need the link Number parameter).
- 2: Put the links from Step 1 in all CTA buttons on the landing page you will promote in the emails
- 3: Add the code from step 2 in the landing page you will promote in the emails
